About my Practice

I work as a partner of a boutique coaching firm, Hay Hill Partners. We are based in central London and the majority of my clients enjoy coming to our offices for their coaching sessions.

I only undertake one to one coaching assignments and the majority of my clients are at board / exco / partner level and one level below in a variety of sectors including financial services, real estate, retail, transport and professional services.

In my work with clients, I seek to combine my experience as a business leader with an integrative coaching framework that reflects ideas and techniques from a variety of schools of psychotherapy, aiming to be able to support clients across the whole spectrum of issues that arise in coaching - from the intensely practical to the deeply personal.

Experience as an Executive Coach

I have been working close to full time as a business coach since January 2010, initially with Praesta Partners until I co-founded Hay Hill Partners in March 2013. I typically work with between 15 and 20 clients and the vast majority of my clients in the period I have been coaching have been in the categories listed above.

Business and organisational experience

I worked for 27 years in the institutional investment management industry before becoming a coach. I started my career as an equity analyst and portfolio manager and later undertook a number of senior leadership roles. I was a PLC board director at Henderson, a Managing Director at Deutsche Asset Management and CEO at Phillips & Drew Fund Management. I remain involved in the investment industry as the non executive Deputy Chairman (and FCA approved person) at Ruffer LLP.

In addition to my practical experience of business, I have a Sloan MSc (with distinction) in management, leadership and strategy from London Business School and am also an Executive Tutor at LBS.

Qualifications and training

I have two master's degrees in coaching (MSc from Ashridge Business School in Executive Coaching, 2011 and a MA from the Metanoia Institute in Coaching Psychology, 2015) and am currently researching a coaching topic for a PhD with the Professional Development Foundation. Hay Hill Partners also has its own CPD programme and intensive professional supervision.

Geography where I offer my services

I operate out of offices in central London and am happy to work within commutable distance from London.

Particular preferences and coaching strengths

I particularly enjoy working with clients who:

  • Are moving from being practitioner expects to being team, department, divisional or business leaders;

  • Are already in a senior leadership position but whose role, business or industry is going through significant change;

  • Are senior women who enjoy and benefit from working with an empathetic male coach.

I am also often selected to work with senior executives who have reservations about receiving coaching and who respond well to a coach who they regard as a 'professional peer' in terms of career background and leadership experience.
