Renewal of APECS Accreditation/Certification

We expect our APECS accredited or certified practitioners to be active in meeting the requirements detailed below. This is our chance to review that with you, so the form below will reflect your thoughts on this.

Here are the requirements for our Accredited/Certified Practitioners

We would like you to show that, in line with the Global Code of Ethics, you -

  • Engage in regular supervision with a suitably qualified supervisor, with a frequency of contact and number of hours that are appropriate to your practice and level of accreditation. One to one, peer group, co-supervision, closed and open group supervision, either in person or on digital platforms, are all recognised as valuable

  • Inform clients that you are receiving supervision and explain that the client may be referred to anonymously in this context, and that the supervision relationship is itself confidential

  • Actively engage in reflective practice

  • Ensure that other professional or personal relationships do not interfere with the quality of the supervision provided and avoid any conflict of interest

  • Discuss any ethical dilemmas and potential or actual breaches of the Global Code of Ethics in your supervision

  • Actively develop your level and depth of thinking and practice in relevant CPPD activities.

  • Contribute to the professional community through informal peer support to fellow practitioners, and by contributing to the field and sharing your work

  • Reflect systemically and evaluate the quality and depth of your work, through inviting feedback from clients, sponsors and stakeholders and through other CPPD activities
