Reflexive Edge Journal - Part 1

A new journal sponsored by APECS

For all in the field of coaching, leadership and supervision

Editors Introduction - Paul Berry

Welcome to the first edition of the Reflexive Edge journal.

The purpose of the journal is to contribute to the quality of thinking and understanding of coaching and supervision practice, education and research.

APECS regularly hosts events and webinars where members come together to discuss different topics related to coaching and supervision. Consistent with this focus on community, we hope the journal offers practitioners a development opportunity by reading and writing a range of critical perspectives.

The journal’s title reflects a core value underpinning APECS philosophy of coaching and supervision: reflexivity. Anyone with experience of the accreditation process will attest to the focus placed on exploring the many factors that shape our practice. Similarly, the journal is intended to support readers in taking a reflexive position when thinking about their practice.

There are very few criteria for having an article published in the Reflexive Edge. Articles can be on any topic relevant to coaching, supervision, and ultimately to organisational leadership. We prioritise articles written critically, and where possible, incorporating some reflexivity. And perhaps most importantly, we ask that submissions are easy to read, free of academic jargon.
