About my practice

I am a coach, supervisor and artist and have been coaching for many years working with leaders and managers from all walks of life and sectors.

I own and run Élan Coaching Ltd, my executive coaching and leadership practice, providing coaching, supervision, leadership thinking spaces and leadership team coaching using conventional, creative and art-based approaches.

I also run Art in Coaching, my platform for sharing research and thinking on this transformational coaching approach, where I also provide resources and offer workshops for coaches who wish to develop art-based coaching. This work has culminated in the book, ‘Coaching Beyond Words – Using Art to Deepen and Enrich Our Conversations’, published by Routledge 2019.

Qualifications and memberships

I qualified with Henley Business School and am an APECS Accredited Master Executive Coach. I am also a qualified coach supervisor holding the EMCC ESQA Certificate in Supervision, a member of the Association for Coaching and a member of the Global Supervisor’s Network.

My coaching

I have been coaching for many years and it is, for me, a continual learning space. Each time I work with someone it is a unique experience and I draw on my years of experience and knowledge to flex my approach to meet their needs.

My clients describe me as highly intuitive and insightful and we work together in creative thinking spaces that allow for deeper awareness, greater insight and personal understanding.

Areas clients work with me on include:

  • Developing and enhancing personal and/or leadership qualities and behaviours

  • Personal and professional impact

  • Where they feel stuck and can’t shift patterns of behaviour and thinking to create the changes they seek

  • Building and maintaining professional relationships

  • Acting as a sounding board to talk through and explore key decisions

  • Personal career choices and decisions

Many of my most memorable experiences are when clients make leaps of insight and awareness that catch them by surprise and lead to lasting changes.

My clients

My clients include legal and financial professionals, scientists, academics, clinicians and engineers as well IT, financial and operational directors, and chief executives. The organisations I work with are also varied including professional services, legal and international consultancies, universities, food distribution, research councils, pharmaceuticals and charities.

Geography

I am based in South/South West England and work across the UK, Europe and internationally. I offer both in-person and online coaching, supervision, and workshops. In-person coaching and supervision is predominantly offered across the South, South West, London, Wales and the Midlands. For all other regions, Europe and other countries coaching and supervision is normally provided online.

My Business Background

Before setting up Élan Coaching, I was a director of a strategic consulting firm working with the boards and senior management teams of fast growing businesses. Prior to that I had a long career in the financial services industry including multi-million pound programme management and heading up the internal audit team for a financial services plc.

Supervision and Coach Development for Internal and Independent Coaches

As well as coaching I supervise independent and internal coaches working on both a 1:1 and group basis. My supervision creates a reflective and supportive space for coaches to think through client issues, develop their coaching practice and be the best coach they can be for their clients.

I also run ‘Art in Coaching’ where I share my research and thinking around this transformational approach, as well as run workshops for coaches who wish to develop art-based approaches and practice.
