A webinar presented by Dr. Sarah Snape.
Career transitions are a frequent topic in coaching sessions. We often meet clients as they try to figure out how to become who they want to be. Career choices and transitions involve identity, and identity work, and that can be challenging.
Our clients have to craft new selves – not wholesale, but a rebalancing, an extension, an evolution of who they are now. Women’s experience of this can be particularly complex in our gendered society. Yet the topic of identity work - a recognised process - is rarely included in coaching education. In this webinar I will share the research I have recently done on the topic, and introduce a coaching model that will help you to support your clients as they experience identity work in their career choices and transitions. We will explore:
This session will be of particular interest to any coaches working with career choices and transitions - promotions, career change, new roles, parental leave, career breaks, sideways moves, voluntary redundancies. It is not about how to succeed in a transition, or coaching for promotion, but about the process of identity work that is integral to successful career decisions.
Dr. Sarah Snape is an APECS-accredited coach and facilitator specialising in career transitions and the identity work that accompanies them.
